When I was made lord ouer manie people, & had subdued the whole earth vnto my dominion, I wolde not exalte my self by the reason of my power, but purposed with equitie alway and gentelnes to gouerne my subiects, and wholy to set them in a peaceable life, and thereby to bring my kingdome vnto tranquilitie, that men might safely go thorow on euerie side, and to renew peace againe, which all men desire.

After that I became lord over many nations and had dominion over the whole world, not lifted up with presumption of my authority, but carrying myself always with equity and mildness, I purposed to settle my subjects continually in a quiet life, and making my kingdom peaceable, and open for passage to the utmost coasts, to renew peace, which is desired of all men.
