1 Maccabees 1:14

whereupon they built a place of exercise at Jerusalem according to the customs of the heathen:

So they built a gymnasium in Jerusalem according to the laws of the Gentiles.

And certeine of the people were readie, & went to the King which gaue them licence to do after the ordinances of the heathen.
