1So they brought in the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tabernacle which David pitched for it; and they offered whole burnt offerings and peace -offerings before God.
1They brought in God’s ark, and set it in the middle of the tent that David had pitched for it; and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.
2And David finished offering up whole burnt offerings and peace -offerings, and blessed the people in the name of the Lord.

3And he divided to every man of Israel (both men and women), to [every] man one baker's loaf , and a cake .

5Asaph [was] the chief, and next to him Zacharias, Jeiel, Semiramoth, and Jeiel, Mattathias, Eliab, and Banaeas, and Abdedom: and Jeiel sounding with musical instruments , lutes [and] harps, and Asaph with cymbals:
5Asaph the chief, and second to him Zechariah, then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, with stringed instruments and with harps; and Asaph with cymbals, sounding aloud;
6and Banaeas and Oziel the priests [sounding] continually with trumpets before the ark of the covenant of God in that day.

7Then David first gave orders to praise the Lord by the hand of Asaph and his brethren.

8Song. Give thanks to the Lord, call upon him by his name, make known his designs among the people.
8Oh give thanks to Yahweh. Call on his name. Make what he has done known among the peoples.
9Sing [songs] to him, and sing hymns to him, relate to all [people] his wonderful deeds, which the Lord has wrought.
9Sing to him. Sing praises to him. Tell of all his marvelous works.
10Praise his holy name, the heart that seeks his pleasure shall rejoice.
10Glory in his holy name. Let the heart of those who seek Yahweh rejoice.
11Seek the Lord and be strong, seek his face continually.
11Seek Yahweh and his strength. Seek his face forever more.
12Remember his wonderful works which he has wrought, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
12Remember his marvelous works that he has done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,
13[you⌃] seed of Israel his servants, [you⌃] seed of Jacobhis chosen ones.

14He [is] the Lord our God; his judgments [are] in all the earth.

15Let us remember his covenant for ever, his word which he commanded to a thousand generations,

19when they were few in number, when they were but little, and lived as strangers in it;

20and went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people.

21He suffered not a man to oppress them , and he reproved kings for their sakes,

22saying, Touch not my anointed ones, and deal not wrongfully with my prophets.
22“Don’t touch my anointed ones! Do my prophets no harm!”
23Sing you⌃ to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation from day to day.
23Sing to Yahweh, all the earth! Display his salvation from day to day.
24Declare among the nations his glory, his wondrous deeds among all peoples.
24Declare his glory among the nations, and his marvelous works among all the peoples.
25For the Lord [is] great , and greatly to be praised: he [is] to be feared above all gods.
25For great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised. He also is to be feared above all gods.
26For all the gods of the nations [are] idols; but our God made the heavens.
26For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but Yahweh made the heavens.
27Glory and praise [are] in his presence; strength and rejoicing [are] in his place.
27Honor and majesty are before him. Strength and gladness are in his place.
28Give to the Lord, you⌃ families of the nations, give to the Lord glory and strength.
28Ascribe to Yahweh, you families of the peoples, ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength!
29Give to the Lord the glory [belonging] to his name: take gifts and offer [them] before him; and worship the Lord in his holy courts.
29Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name. Bring an offering, and come before him. Worship Yahweh in holy array.
30Let the whole earth fear before him; let the earth be established, and not be moved.
30Tremble before him, all the earth. The world also is established that it can’t be moved.
31Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth exult; and let them say among the nations, The Lord reigns.
31Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice! Let them say among the nations, “Yahweh reigns!”
32The sea with its fullness shall resound and the tree of the field , and all things in it.
32Let the sea roar, and its fullness! Let the field exult, and all that is in it!
33Then shall the trees of the wood rejoice before the Lord, for he is come to judge the earth.
33Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before Yahweh, for he comes to judge the earth.
34Give thanks to the Lord, for [it is] good, for his mercy [is] for ever.
34Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.
35And say you⌃, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us, and rescue us from among the heathen, that we may praise your holy name, and glory in your praises.
35Say, “Save us, God of our salvation! Gather us together and deliver us from the nations, to give thanks to your holy name, to triumph in your praise.”
36Blessed [be] the Lord God of Israelfrom everlasting and to everlasting: And all the people shall say, Amen. So they praised the Lord.
36Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from everlasting even to everlasting. All the people said, “Amen,” and praised Yahweh.
37And they left there Asaph and his brethren before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to minister before the ark continually, according to the service of each day: from day to day.
37So he left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of Yahweh’s covenant, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required;
38And Abdedom and his brethren [were] sixty and eight ; and Abdedom the son of Idithun, and Osa, [were] to be doorkeepers.
38and Obed-Edom with their sixty-eight relatives; Obed-Edom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be doorkeepers;
39And [they appointed] Sadoc the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the Lord in the high place in Gabaon,
39and Zadok the priest and his brothers the priests, before Yahweh’s tabernacle in the high place that was at Gibeon,
40to offer up whole burnt offerings continually morning and evening, and according to all things written in the law of the Lord, which he commanded the children of Israel by Moses the servant of God.
40to offer burnt offerings to Yahweh on the altar of burnt offering continually morning and evening, even according to all that is written in Yahweh’s law, which he commanded to Israel;
41And with him [were] Aeman and Idithun, and the rest chosen out by nameto praise the Lord, for his mercy [endures] for ever.
41and with them Heman and Jeduthun and the rest who were chosen, who were mentioned by name, to give thanks to Yahweh, because his loving kindness endures forever;
42And with them [there were] trumpets and cymbals to sound aloud, and musical instruments for the songs of God: and the sons of Idithun [were] at the gate.
42and with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should sound aloud, and with instruments for the songs of God, and the sons of Jeduthun to be at the gate.
43And all the people went every one to his home: and David returned to bless his house.
