1(119) Alleluia. Blessed are the blameless in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.
1Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.
2Blessed are they that search out his testimonies: they will diligently seek him with the whole heart.
2Let Israel now say that his loving kindness endures forever.
3For they that work iniquity have not walked in his ways.
3Let the house of Aaron now say that his loving kindness endures forever.
4You have commanded [us] diligently to keep your precepts.
4Now let those who fear Yahweh say that his loving kindness endures forever.
5O that my ways were directed to keep your ordinances.
5Out of my distress, I called on Yah. Yah answered me with freedom.
6Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect to all your commandments.
6Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
7I will give you thanks with uprightness of heart, when I have learned the judgments of your righteousness.
7Yahweh is on my side among those who help me. Therefore I will look in triumph at those who hate me.
8I will keep your ordinances: O forsake me not greatly.
8It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in man.
9Wherewith shall a young man direct his way? by keeping your words.
9It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in princes.
10With my whole heart have I diligently sought you: cast me not away from your commandments.
10All the nations surrounded me, but in Yahweh’s name I cut them off.
11I have hidden your oracles in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
11They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me. In Yahweh’s name I indeed cut them off.
12Blessed are you, O Lord: teach me your ordinances.
12They surrounded me like bees. They are quenched like the burning thorns. In Yahweh’s name I cut them off.
13With my lips have I declared all the judgments of your mouth.
13You pushed me back hard, to make me fall, but Yahweh helped me.
14I have delighted in the way of your testimonies, [as much] as in all riches.
14Yah is my strength and song. He has become my salvation.
15I will meditate on your commandments, and consider your ways.
15The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous. “The right hand of Yahweh does valiantly.
16I will meditate on your ordinances: I will not forget your words.
16The right hand of Yahweh is exalted! The right hand of Yahweh does valiantly!”
17Render a recompense to your servant: [so] shall I live, and keep your words.
17I will not die, but live, and declare Yah’s works.
18Unveil you my eyes, and I shall perceive wondrous things of your law.
18Yah has punished me severely, but he has not given me over to death.
19I am a stranger in the earth: hide not your commandments from me .
19Open to me the gates of righteousness. I will enter into them. I will give thanks to Yah.
20My soul has longed exceedingly for your judgments at all times.
20This is the gate of Yahweh; the righteous will enter into it.
21You have rebuked the proud: cursed are they that turn aside from your commandments.
21I will give thanks to you, for you have answered me, and have become my salvation.
22Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have sought out your testimonies.
22The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
23For princes sat and spoke against me: but your servant was meditating on your ordinances.
23This is Yahweh’s doing. It is marvelous in our eyes.
24For your testimonies are my meditation, and your ordinances are my counselors.
24This is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!
25My soul has cleaved to the ground; quicken you me according to your word.
25Save us now, we beg you, Yahweh! Yahweh, we beg you, send prosperity now.
26I declared my ways, and you did hear me: teach me your ordinances.
26Blessed is he who comes in Yahweh’s name! We have blessed you out of Yahweh’s house.
27Instruct me in the way of your ordinances; and I will meditate on your wondrous works.
27Yahweh is God, and he has given us light. Bind the sacrifice with cords, even to the horns of the altar.
28My soul has slumbered for sorrow; strengthen you me with your words.
28You are my God, and I will give thanks to you. You are my God, I will exalt you.
29Remove from me the way of iniquity; and be merciful to me by your law.
29Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.
