¹(120) A Song of Degrees. In my affliction I cried to the Lord, and he listened to me.

¹Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.

²Deliver my soul, O Lord, from unjust lips, and from a deceitful tongue.

²Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

³What should be given to you, and what should be added to you, for [your] crafty tongue?

³They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.

⁴Sharpened weapons of the mighty, with coals of the desert.

⁴Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.

⁵Woe is me, that my sojourning is prolonged; I have tabernacled among the tents of Kedar.

⁵O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!

⁶My soul has long been a sojourner;

⁶Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.

⁷I was peaceful among them that hated peace; when I spoke to them, they warred against me without a cause.

⁷I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.
