¹(130) A Song of Degrees. Out of the depths have I cried to you, O Lord.

¹Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:

²O Lord, listen to my voice; let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.

²Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.

³If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

³The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.

⁴For with you is forgiveness: for your name's sake

⁴The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

⁵have I waited for you, O Lord, my soul has waited for your word.

⁵Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

⁶My soul has hoped in the Lord; from the morning watch till night.

⁶Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:

⁷Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

⁷Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

⁸And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

⁸Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the Lord be upon you: we bless you in the name of the Lord.
