1(147) Alleluia, [a Psalm] of Aggaeus and Zacharias. Praise you⌃ the Lord: for psalmody is a good thing; let praise be sweetly sung to our God.
1Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul.
2The Lord builds up Jerusalem; and he will gather together the dispersed of Israel.
2While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.
3He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.
3Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
4He numbers the multitudes of stars; and calls them all by names.
4His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
5Great is our Lord, and great is his strength; and his understanding is infinite.
5Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:
6The Lord lifts up the meek; but brings sinners down to the ground.
6Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:
7Begin [the song] with thanksgiving to the Lord; sing praises on the harp to our God:
7Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The Lord looseth the prisoners:
8who covers the heaven with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who causes grass to spring up on the mountains, [[and green herb for the service of men;]]
8The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous:
9and gives cattle their food, and to the young ravens that call upon him.
9The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
10He will not take pleasure in the strength of a horse; neither is he well-pleased with the legs of a man.
10The Lord shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the Lord.
