1(21) For the end, a Psalm of David. O Lord, the king shall rejoice in your strength; and in your salvation he shall greatly exult.
1For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. May Yahweh answer you in the day of trouble. May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high,
2You have granted him the desire of his soul, and have not withheld from him the request of his lips. Pause.
2send you help from the sanctuary, grant you support from Zion,
3For you have prevented him with blessings of goodness: you have set upon his head a crown of precious stone.
3remember all your offerings, and accept your burned sacrifice. Selah.
4He asked life of you , and you gave him length of days for ever and ever.
4May he grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your counsel.
5His glory is great in your salvation: you will crown him with glory and majesty.
5We will triumph in your salvation. In the name of our God, we will set up our banners. May Yahweh grant all your requests.
6For you will give him a blessing for ever and ever: you will gladden him with joy with your countenance.
6Now I know that Yahweh saves his anointed. He will answer him from his holy heaven, with the saving strength of his right hand.
7For the king trusts in the Lord, and through the mercy of the Highest he shall not be moved.
7Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of Yahweh our God.
8Let your hand be found by all your enemies: let your right hand find all that hate you.
8They are bowed down and fallen, but we rise up, and stand upright.
9You shall make them as a fiery oven at the time of your presence: the Lord shall trouble them in his anger, and fire shall devour them.
9Save, Yahweh! Let the King answer us when we call!
