1(26) [A Psalm] of David. Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in my innocence: and hoping in the Lord I shall not be moved.
1By David. To you, Yahweh, I lift up my soul.
2Prove me, O Lord, and try me; purify as with fire my reins and my heart.
2My God, I have trusted in you. Don’t let me be shamed. Don’t let my enemies triumph over me.
3For your mercy is before my eyes: and I am well pleased with your truth.
3Yes, no one who waits for you will be shamed. They will be shamed who deal treacherously without cause.
4I have not sat with the council of vanity, and will in nowise enter in with transgressors.
4Show me your ways, Yahweh. Teach me your paths.
5I have hated the assembly of wicked doers; and will not sit with ungodly [men].
5Guide me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation. I wait for you all day long.
6I will wash my hands in innocency, and compass your altar, O Lord:
6Yahweh, remember your tender mercies and your loving kindness, for they are from old times.
7to hear the voice of praise, and to declare all your wonderful works.
7Don’t remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions. Remember me according to your loving kindness, for your goodness’ sake, Yahweh.
8O Lord, I have loved the beauty of your house, and the place of the tabernacle of your glory.
8Good and upright is Yahweh, therefore he will instruct sinners in the way.
9Destroy not my soul together with the ungodly, nor my life with bloody men:
9He will guide the humble in justice. He will teach the humble his way.
10in whose hands [are] iniquities, [and] their right hand is filled with bribes.
10All the paths of Yahweh are loving kindness and truth to such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11But I have walked in my innocence: redeem me, and have mercy upon me.
11For your name’s sake, Yahweh, pardon my iniquity, for it is great.
12My foot stands in an even place: in the congregations will I bless you, O Lord.
12What man is he who fears Yahweh? He shall instruct him in the way that he shall choose.
