1For the End, a Song of David among [the ]Psalms. When I called upon [him], the God of my righteousness heard me: you have made room for me in tribulation; pity me, and listen to my prayer.
1Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.
2O you⌃ sons of men, how long [will you⌃ be] slow of heart? therefore do you⌃ love vanity, and seek falsehood? Pause.
2O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.
3But know you⌃ that the Lord has done wondrous things for his holy one: the Lord will hear me when I cry to him.
3But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.
4Be you⌃ angry, and sin not; feel compunction upon your beds for what you⌃ say in your hearts. Pause.
4Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
5Offer the sacrifice of righteousness, and trust in the Lord.
5Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
6Many say, Who will show us good things? the light of your countenance, O Lord, has been manifested towards us.
6There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.
7You have put gladness into my heart: they have been satisfied with the fruit of their corn and wine and oil.
7Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.
8I will both lie down in peaceand sleep: for you, Lord, only have caused me to dwell securely.
8I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.
