1(87) A Psalm of a Song for the sons of Core. His foundations are in the holy mountains.
1Bow down thine ear, O Lord, hear me: for I am poor and needy.
2The Lord loves the gates of Sion, more than all the tabernacles of Jacob.
2Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.
3Glorious things have been spoken of you, O city of God. Pause.
3Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.
4I will make mention of Raab and Babylon to them that know me: behold also the Philistines, and Tyre, and the people of the Ethiopians: these were born there.
4Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
5A man shall say, Sion [is my] mother; and [such] a man was born in her; and the Highest himself has founded her.
5For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
6The Lord shall recount [it] in the writing of the people, and of these princes that were born in her.
6Give ear, O Lord, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
7The dwelling of all within you is [as the dwelling] of those that rejoice.
7In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.
