1(96) When the house was built after the Captivity, a Song of David. Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.
1Oh come, let’s sing to Yahweh. Let’s shout aloud to the rock of our salvation!
2Sing to the Lord, bless his name: proclaim his salvation from day to day.
2Let’s come before his presence with thanksgiving. Let’s extol him with songs!
3Publish his glory among the Gentiles, his wonderful works among all people.
3For Yahweh is a great God, a great King above all gods.
4For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is terrible above all gods.
4In his hand are the deep places of the earth. The heights of the mountains are also his.

8Don’t harden your heart, as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness,
9Worship the Lord in his holy court: let all the earth tremble before him.
9when your fathers tempted me, tested me, and saw my work.
10Say among the heathen, The Lord reigns: for he has established the world so that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people in righteousness.
10Forty long years I was grieved with that generation, and said, “They are a people who err in their heart. They have not known my ways.”
11Let the heavens rejoice, and the earth exult; let the sea be moved, and the fullness of it.
11Therefore I swore in my wrath, “They won’t enter into my rest.
