1(98) A Psalm of David. Sing to the Lord a new song; for the Lord has wrought wonderful works, his right hand, and his holy arm, have wrought salvation for him.
1The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.
2The Lord has made known his salvation, he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations.
2Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.
3He has remembered his mercy to Jacob, and his truth to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
3A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.
4Shout to God, all the earth; sing, and exult, and sing psalms.
4His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
5Sing to the Lord with a harp, with a harp, and the voice of a psalm.
5The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6With trumpets of metal, and the sound of a trumpet of horn make a joyful noise to the Lord before the king.
6The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
7Let the sea be moved, and the fullness of it; the world, and they that dwell in it.
7Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.
8The rivers shall clap their hands together; the mountains shall exult.
8Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O Lord.
9For he is come to judge the earth; he shall judge the world in righteousness, and the nations in uprightness.
9For thou, Lord, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.
