Matthew 11 in the King James Version opens with Jesus sending out His twelve disciples to teach and preach. While John the Baptist is in prison, he sends two disciples to ask Jesus if He is the one who should come, or if they should look for another. Jesus instructs them to tell John about the miracles they see: "The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk." He emphasizes the blessings on those not offended by Him. Jesus then speaks to the multitude about John, highlighting his prophetic role, saying, "Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist." Despite this, Jesus notes that "he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he." He also alludes to John as Elias, who was foretold to come. Jesus compares the generation to children in markets, illustrating their dismissive response to both John’s and His own ministries. Jesus critiques the people for calling John demonic and labeling Him a "winebibber." This chapter highlights the recognition of Jesus as the awaited Messiah and the public's varied responses to His and John's messages. → Matthew 11:1-19 Read the whole Bible, Septuagint and KJV side by side, at sovereignlogos.com Free Bible app: sovereignlogos.com/app #matthew11 #kjvbiblereading #jesusandjohn #kingdomofheaven #bibleverses
