Matthew 18 features important teachings of Jesus about humility, forgiveness, and the value of each individual. The disciples ask Jesus about who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Jesus responds by calling a little child to Him, emphasizing that unless they become like little children, they cannot enter the kingdom. He teaches that whoever humbles themselves like a child is the greatest in the kingdom. Receiving a child in His name is akin to receiving Him. Jesus warns about causing "one of these little ones which believe in me" to stumble, stating it is better to have a millstone hung around one's neck and be drowned in the sea than to cause such an offense. He speaks of the seriousness of offenses and advises removing anything that causes one to sin, even if it means entering "into life halt or maimed." Jesus illustrates the Father's care with the parable of the lost sheep, where the shepherd rejoices over finding the one lost sheep more than the ninety-nine. He concludes that it is not the Father's will for any of "these little ones" to perish. Jesus also guides on resolving personal conflicts, advising to talk to a brother alone if he trespasses. → Matthew 18:1-15 Read the whole Bible, Septuagint and KJV side by side, at sovereignlogos.com Free Bible app: sovereignlogos.com/app #jesusteachings #kingdomofheaven #parableoflostsheep #humilityinchrist #matthew18forgiveness #biblereading #scripturestudy #childlikefaith #offensesbible #trespassresolution
