In Matthew 21, Jesus' entry into Jerusalem is described in detail. Arriving at Bethphage near the mount of Olives, He sends two disciples to fetch an ass and a colt. This act fulfills the prophecy, "Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass." As Jesus rides into the city, a multitude hails Him with cries of "Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord." This triumphant entry moves the entire city, prompting many to ask about His identity. The crowd responds, "This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee." Upon entering the temple, Jesus famously drives out those buying and selling, overturning the moneychangers' tables and declaring, "My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves." The chapter also recounts how the blind and lame come to Him for healing, and children in the temple praise Him, leading to the displeasure of the chief priests and scribes. Jesus' response, "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise," highlights the innocence and truth in the children's worship.
