In Matthew 22, Jesus shares the parable of the wedding feast, illustrating the kingdom of heaven as a king who prepares a marriage for his son. He sends his servants to invite the guests, but they refuse to come. When the king sends more servants with a reminder that the feast is ready, the invited guests dismiss the invitation and mistreat the servants. Angered, the king sends his armies to destroy the murderers and their city. The king then instructs his servants to invite anyone they find, gathering both good and bad to fill the banquet hall. A man without a wedding garment is cast into outer darkness, where there is "weeping and gnashing of teeth." Jesus concludes with the notable phrase, "For many are called, but few are chosen." Later, the Pharisees and Herodians attempt to trap Jesus with a question about paying tribute to Caesar. Jesus, recognizing their malice, calls them hypocrites and asks for a coin, leading to his famous response about rendering unto Caesar. → Matthew 22:1-22 Read the whole Bible, Septuagint and KJV side by side, at sovereignlogos.com Free Bible app: sovereignlogos.com/app #parableoftheweddingfeast #JesusMatthew22 #tributeCaesar #manyarecalledfewarechosen #Matthewevanglist #PhariseesandHerodians #outerdarkness #weddinggarments #SovereignLogos #Septuagint #BibleStudy #Scripture #KJV #BiblicalTruth #ChristianShorts #BibleExplained #WordOfGod #Jesus #Christianity #OldTestament
