Albert Barnes says it plainly: the world, all mankind, man as man, the race that had rebelled and deserved to die. That is who God loved. The whole rebel race. One love for the whole world, one Son lifted up for all of it, and one way home through him. He that believeth not is condemned already. There is no second door.
