1(122) A Song of Degrees. I was glad when they said to me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.
1I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2Our feet stood in your courts, O Jerusalem.
2My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
3Jerusalem is built as a city whose fellowship is complete.
3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4For there the tribes went up, the tribes of the Lord, as a testimony for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the Lord.
4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5For there are set thrones for judgment, [even] thrones for the house of David.
5The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6Pray now for the peace of Jerusalem: and [let there be] prosperity to them that love you.
6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7Let peace, I pray, be within your host, and prosperity in your palaces.
7The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8For the sake of my brethren and my neighbors, I have indeed spoken peace concerning you.
8The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
